Fizzy Beez to Launch At Kroger Stores in Ohio

Cincinnati, OH– Join golf fans this Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Hyde Park Kroger (3760 Paxton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45209) to sample the newest cocktail, Fizzy Beez, by Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam and hit a couple putts with the sports legend.

The idea for homemade vodka based, ready-to-drink, sparkling cocktails, a play on Annika’s “busy bee” lifestyle, came during the pandemic as Sorenstam, her husband Mike McGee, and eventual business partner, Kathy Johanson started mixing drinks to create a beverage superior to others in the ready-to-drink market.

Fizzy Beez is a full-flavored, canned cocktail that comes in a variety of classic flavors including Mojito, Cosmo, Margarita and Moscow Mule. The low-calorie drink is sweetened with a touch of pure organic honey and has a few other clean, simple, kosher, gluten, free ingredients – perfect for the golf course or simply for relaxing in your backyard this summer.

“I’m always on the go and have always cared about being healthy and active. When I relax and want to enjoy a cocktail, I want it to have flavor. So, we made our own RTD’s with natural ingredients we can feel good about,” Annika said. “We are also female owned and give back through our Fizzy Beez Promise.”

Annika is often regarded as the greatest female golfer of all-time. During her 15-year, Hall of Fame career, she rewrote the LPGA and Ladies European Tour record books, won countless awards, and changed the way women’s golf was played, viewed, and covered.

She has amassed over 90 worldwide victories and received worldwide media attention when she became the first woman in 58 years to play in a PGA TOUR event at the 2003 Colonial Invitational.

As a champion of sustainability, Annika and the Fizzy Beez team has committed to giving back to non-profit organizations who take care of bees and the ecosystem. The first recipient of the Fizzy Beez Promise is Cincinnati’s own Queen City Pollinator Project, a non-profit committed to protecting pollinators of every sort through education and beekeeping.

“The Fizzy Bee Promise to sustainable business practices through recycling and supporting non-profit organizations who care for our pollinator communities aligns with Kroger’s goals to reduce climate impacts and conserve natural resources,” said Jenifer Moore, corporate affairs manager for the Cincinnati/Dayton Division. “We are proud to partner with Annika to offer a fresh product to our customers just in time backyard barbeques with family and friends.”

Fizzy Beez launched exclusively in Ohio in February and will be available at local stores.
