Cincinnati – LPGA Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam will be at Taft Ale in Spring Grove on Wednesday, February 2, noon for the release of her new line of canned organic cocktails, Fizzy Beez.
Brewed at Impact Brews in Cincinnati, the line features classic cocktails such as Cosmo, Margarita, Moscow Mule and Mojito. Each cocktail is sweetened with ethically farmed organic honey, is gluten free and is 140 calories for each 12 ounce drink. Fizzy Beez will first be released in Ohio, with new launches to follow this year and next in Nevada, California, Arizona and Florida.
“During the COVID lockdown, my husband and I got tired of the ready to drink cocktails that had no flavor,” Sorenstam said. “After months of mixing and tasting with friends, we came up with drinks that have full flavor, but without all the calories and sugar.”
Sorenstam co-owns Fizzy Beez with friend and partner Dr. Kathy Johanson, who brings 35 years of corporate experience to the company. According to an article by VinePair, Inc., the sales of ready to drink cocktails increased by 91.8 percent in the United States during the first months of the pandemic. The ready to drink cocktail market size is projected to grow annually at more than 12 percent, from a value of $714.8 million in 2020 to an estimated market value of $1.63 billion in 2027.
